Route outline (key) | |||||||
|
The R200 links the R202 at Derrynacreeve in County Cavan to the R280 at Drumkeeran in County Leitrim. The route passes through scenic countryside which is substantially depopulated and is largely a narrow S2 on its late 19th century alignment with very modest upgrading. The route rises to 340M at Bellavally Gap, 7KM West from the junction with the R202.
The road from Belturbet to Derrynacreeve which now forms part of the N87 had, before its elevation to national status in 1994, been a part of the R200.
