Uddingston Cross is a busy signalised crossroads in the centre of Uddingston. It marks the western end of the B756, which heads east towards Bellshill on Bellshill Road, while the main route through the junction is the north-south B7071, which is the former A74. The western arm of the junction is also, confusingly, called Bellshill Road, and connects to Old Glasgow Road. This route forks off the B7071 a little to the south of Uddingston Cross and takes a more westerly line, following Sheepburn Road back towards the B7071, although it is now cut by the motorway. The first edition Ordnance Survey maps show the current route along Main Street and Glasgow Road as the main road, however.

The three main arms of the junction all have two turning lanes on the approaches, and the centre of the junction is controlled with a single large yellow box. As is often the case on urban junctions like this, it is almost completely unsigned.
