The B4473 is a short link road to the west of Shrewsbury. It was originally unclassified, gaining its number in the late 1920s, and was presumably more important before the present A5 bypass was built.
The road starts on the A458 and heads north, signposted to Preston Montford; this is a tiny, easy-to-miss hamlet which we pass through shortly before going under the A5. We continue north across the fields and it's not long before we end at a T-junction on the B4380 just east of Montford Bridge.
