This article is about the Class III road numbered C144 maintained by Northumberland Council. For other roads numbered C144, see C144.
The C144 is a long cross country route in central Northumberland. It starts at a roundabout on the A197 at Fair Moor just outside Morpeth. From here the road heads to another roundabout before passing under the A1, following the old route of the A192 dating from before Morpeth's northern bypass was built along with a new junction to the south where the A197 now links to the A1. Heading westwards out into the countryside, the road passes Pigdon before crossing the River Font at Netherwitton. From here the road heads north westwards and continues to follow the river upstream before soon crossing it again. Continuing north west, the road passes Wingates Wind Farm on its way across the moor. Finally, the road descends steeply towards Forestburn Gate where the B6342 is reached.
