NCN755 is currently a fairly short spur leading north along the old railway line from Kirkintilloch to the village of Strathblane, passing along the southern edge of the Campsie Fells. The start is near Kirkintillochs town centre, on the towpath of the Forth & Clyde Canal, which is also the route of NCN754. A choice of paths and streets quickly lead to the railway line which, with a couple of minor deviations, is followed to the end. The entire route is also part of the John Muir Way, which continues westwards from Strathblane into the Mugdock Country Park to meet the West Highland Way. Whilst neither of these routes are designed for cyclists, with a few gates and the occasional stile to negotiate, they do provide a link to NCN7, and it seems likely that there is a long term intention to extend NCN755 along this route.
