NCN Route 757 is a cycle route which runs from South Carpark, Fairlie to Hunterston Roundabout. Curiously, this short route appears to be a part of the same longer distance NCN753 to the north, although neither are anywhere near complete at present. The 757 number is primarily known from Opencyclemap.org, with neither Sustrans, nor signage on the ground recognising the number.
Route
The route starts on the coast in Fairlie (when heading north, cyclists are directed off the A78 onto a coastal path which becomes totally unsuited to cycling). It then runs parallel to the A78 alongside the Hunterston Coal Terminal and is a mix of roadside pavement and sections darting in behind trees and bushes. It comes to an end at the Hunterston Roundabout, and the onward route is now signed as the NCN753, suggesting that the 757 number is erroneous. This route also forms part of the Ayrshire Coastal Path.
