The Thulston Roundabout was where the dual carriageway section of the A6 Derby Spur used to end, before the construction of the Alvaston Bypass which opened on December 17th 2003.
The Thulston Roundabout (and The A6 Derby Spur from the Aston Interchange) were built along with the A50 Derby Southern Bypass which opened on September 4th 1997.
