The A4254 is an avoiding route to the south and east of Nuneaton town centre.
The road starts to the south of the town centre at a roundabout on the A444 and B4113. The Nuneaton to Coventry railway line also crosses the middle of the roundabout on a viaduct. Initially we head east along the residential Avenue Road. We cross a stream and then meet the B4114 at a roundabout.
A couple of bends take us to a bridge over the West Coast Main Line after which we pass through an industrial estate. After a roundabout we bend sharply left to head northwards. There's another roundabout and then we follow a rural route between the football ground and cemetery. We cross the River Anker then there's a turn-off for the Hemdale Business Park before we go over yet another railway line, Nuneaton to Leicester. There's now a short section skirting the urban area before we end at a roundabout on the A47 on the eastern edge of town.
