The A4203 number was allocated to Hamilton Place in West London, which allowed traffic to cut the northwest corner between the A4 Piccadilly and A4202 Park Lane (now Old Park Lane).
By the 1940s, the road had become the mainline branch of the A4202. Since the dualling and realignment of Park Lane in the 1960s, the road is now unclassified.
