The A4243 is a short link road to the east of Carmarthen town centre. Starting at a roundabout on the A484, it heads northeastwards past the hospital and ends after less than half a mile at a larger roundabout on the A485. The number is not marked on road signs or shown on most maps; many refer to it as a spur of the A485, which is the road's original number.
