Annick Roundabout is a junction on the B7081 east of Irvine town centre. It is where the Southern Approach Road joins Annick Road, which was formerly the A71 main road between Irvine and Kilmarnock.
History
The junction is at the north eastern end of the Irvine Southern Approach Road, which was reported as due to open next week by the Irvine Herald of 4 June 1971. It had been opened by 23 June 1971. It was designed to reduce congestion at The Cross. The OS one inch map of 1973 shows a T junction, as does the 1987 1:50000 map so the roundabout was opened later.
It would have carried more traffic after the opening of the Irvine Bypass Link from the Irvine Southern Approach Road at Milgarholm Roundabout to Warrix Interchange in 1981 which linked the town centre to the A78 Bypass.
