The Black Prince Interchange was built in 1972 when Rochester way became a dual carriageway. Named for the nearby Black Prince Hotel, it is one of the A2's known black spots due to the layout of the interchange. Firstly there is a coach stop at slip-road level. Secondly it near to the TfL border with National Highways. Lastly there are local roads on the Londonbound slip-road. It also has a short D2 section on the junction itself.
