Chestnut Roundabout was built in 2014 to join the new Slateford Road to the A8. Slateford Road heads south west, climbing the hill and then turns south east to serve the new housing developments on the hillside above Bishopton. The road eventually links back to Barrangary Roundabout, also on the A8, to the east of Bishopton. The junction is a simple 3 arm roundabout, with both arms of the A8 having been turned slightly on the approach to maintain the north east boundary line.
