DIRFT, also known as Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal is a intermodal transfer point between the M1 and WCML to the east of Rugby.
'Daventry rail freight terminal' was proposed as a Primary Destination in 2012, but was rejected for three reasons:
- Proximity to another Primary Destination (Rugby)
- Already on the PRN at M1 J18 and signed well from the motorway.
- Low levels of Freight traffic compared with ports that are Primary Destinations.
