Rugby is a market town in Warwickshire. Rugby football was born here and it is (was) a major railway junction. It is bounded on three sides by three motorways - the M6, M1 and M45 so has excellent communication.
History
Boughton Road Extension
The 560 yard unclassified road connecting the original Boughton Road to A426 Leicester Road, Brownsover was opened on 3 December 1964 by S. Carter, Chairman of the Highways Committee. It had a 40 foot width between fences with a 28 foot carriageway and 6 foot footpath on the south side. Cost was £43,300.
The original 18th century canal bridge had been closed to traffic in the Second World War due to cracks in the arch. The new bridge was to be named Arnold Broome Bridge after a former Mayor.
