Empress Roundabout is the junction of the A59, the A661 and the A6040 in Harrogate. The actual roundabout adjoins Two Hundred Acre in the town.
Prior to the 1980s, this roundabout did not exist. There were a set of traffic lights to the west of the roundabout's current location, in line with the general alignment of the A661 - close to where a Pelican crossings is now - where the A661 met the A6040. The A59 used to TOTSO where the roundabout is, on a non-signal controlled T-junction.
