The Guardbridge Roundabout lies at the southern end of the short A919. As part of the route between St Andrews and Dundee, this is a busy junction with a lot of turning traffic which can back up along all of the approaches. Two lanes are provided on each approach, but these are quite short, particularly that on the eastern arm of the A91, which is pinched by the close proximity of the Guard Bridge itself. Traffic problems can be aggravated by the small size of the junction, with houses on all sides.
