Heybarne's Circus is a roundabout on the edge of the Small Heath district of central Birmingham.
The roundabout opened in the mid 1980's when the D2 Small Heath Highway section of the A45 was opened to try and alleviate the chronic traffic jams that used to occur on the A45's old alignment westbound towards Birmingham city centre.
Many small improvements have been made to the island over the past few years to try and ease congestion, including a designated filter lane that allows traffic coming eastbound from the old alignment of the A45 (Coventry Road) to stay on the Coventry Road once it becomes the A45 without having to queue at the roundabout itself.
The roundabout also allows easy access to the start of the Kingfisher Country Park which runs for for seven miles (11 kilometres) of the Cole Valley (from Small Heath to Castle Vale) and is popular with both local cyclists and also runners.
