The Passage East Ferry is a small ferry service for light motor vehicle traffic, cyclists, and pedestrians that allows traffic to go direct between Waterford and Wexford, crossing the River Suir near Waterford Harbour. Vans and commercial vehicles are prohibited, and must take the N25 via New Ross instead, which is a substantial detour.
A ferry has existed here for centuries. The current ferry service dates from 1982.
