The A101 is a short link between the M1 and A1 in Sprucefield, to the south of Lisburn, created to bypass development on the A1. Opening in October 2003 at a cost of £8m[1], it is a trunk road (part of T4), D2 throughout, that forms part of the E01 Belfast - Dublin route.
Beginning at Blaris Interchange, a dumbbell with the M1 and its junction 8, the road heads southeast for just under half a mile past a retail park before ending at a roundabout with the A1.
