The C297 is a long route in County Down. Starting on the A49 (Sloan Street) in Lisburn, the road heads along Young Street before TOTSOing left onto Ballynahinch Road which takes it under the M1 motorway and into the countryside. The road takes priority upon encountering the B178 through a crossroads before crossing the Ravernet River. Continuing south, the road comes to a crossroads and turns east away from the start of the C307 which continues south from here. The road turns south east before passing Lough Erne and crossing the C294. Eventually the road ends on the B177 outside Ballynahinch.
