This article is about the original B4424 in Carmarthen.

The B4424 is marked as Link in Carmarthen on the 1922 Road Lists. However, the corresponding MOT map does not show any B roads in Carmarthen. The road was certainly a last minute classification, probably in early 1923, as the other B442x roads are on Anglesey.
As the road is not marked on any maps, it is difficult to determine its whereabouts, although it may be assumed that it is a short road (or it would be easier to place). Its most likely location, therefore, was along Queen Street in the town centre, connecting the A40 King Street with the A48 Spilman Street.
The B4424 was unchanged in the 1935 road renumberings but has disappeared since then. Queen Street is now unclassified and one-way eastbound.
