The use of the B6523 number is only known because it is listed in the DfT Road Lists as Old Felton - Felton - West Moor. This is the former route of the A1 through the village of Felton in Northumberland, but in fact no evidence that the number was ever assigned to the road can be found. Instead, the short section connecting the two sections of B6345 gained that number, and the rest became an unclassified road. Any evidence to the contrary is welcome!
