The C86 starts at Pisgah on the Glen Road at Dunblane, and climbs north west up onto Sherriffmuir. Just before reaching the council boundary, it forks, with the very short C87 turning left, the road ultimately reaching Greenloaning, whilst the C86 continues ahead, the road becoming the C468 and dropping down to Blackford.
