Cuckoo Bridge Roundabout, also known as Glasgow Road Roundabout, is the junction where the A76 Glasgow Road crosses the A75 Dumfries Bypass. Constructed with the bypass, the roundabout is one of several along its route, although this junction has a total of 6 exits, and is dominated by a pedestrian footbridge which crosses overhead. Whilst this cable stayed bridge technically only crosses the A75, it actually spans the whole roundabout, with the tower standing on the southern edge of the central island.
The junction is therefore somewhat larger than the other roundabouts on the bypass, and sees the A76 runs northwest out of Dumfries heading for Tornhill and ultimately reaching Kilmarnock in Ayrshire. Meanwhile, the A75 crosses at right angles as it curves around the town, and heading east it crosses the meandering River Nith three times before reaching the next junction.
The other two exits both leave from the southern, town, side of the junction, and curve to run parallel to the A75 in either direction. The road to the west leads to an industrial estate, whilst to the west it is signed as Works Access, but also leads to one of the retail parks in this part of Dumfries, another lying a short distance to the south on the A76.
