For the non-signalised roundabout just to the West in Great Sankey, see Sankey Roundabout.
Sankey Green is a junction on the A57; the eastern terminus of Sankey Way and western terminus of the A5061. It helps provide a link from Warrington to Liverpool and Widnes via Great Sankey. Sankey Way specifically serves as arguably the most major link from the west of Warrington to the town centre - this function relies on this junction.
It is colloquially referred to as the Pink Eye Roundabout due to the very visible tall building nearby. It is an old mill building turned self-storage facility which is painted with a mural of a crying eye on a pink background. The name doesn't actually have anything to do with conjunctivitis, despite its unpleasant implication.
It is one of the largest junctions in Warrington, competing in size with even Bridgefoot. It is a large signalised roundabout with 3-4 lanes around it. Sankey Way's (A57) speed limit drops from 40mph to 30mph for this junction.
