St Ninians Crossroads was the first junction on the Isle of Man to be fitted with Traffic Lights. It is now a busy signalised crossroads where the A2 and A22 cross, a little to the south west of the start/finish line of the TT Circuit, the race route using the A2 through the junction. For this reason, a footbridge crosses the A2 a little to the west of the junction. With the exception of the northern arm of the A22, all the roads have two approach lanes to accommodate turning traffic. The junction takes its name from the church and school of the same dedication which stand either side of the southern arm of the A22.
