Testos Roundabout (signed as Testo's) is a major junction on the A19 in North East England, where it meets the A184 which is a Trunk road from here to White Mare Pool where it meets the A194(M).

History

1965 - Before the junction
1968 - Tyne Tunnel Southern Approach Road from the north
1972 - Sunderland Bypass section from the south

The junction opened with the Tyne Tunnel Southern Approach Road shortly after the tunnel had opened in October 1967. The roundabout was completed for the Sunderland Bypass section which opened on 20 March 1972.

A scheme to grade-separate the junction by providing a flyover for the A19 was completed in 2021, with the flyover opening to traffic on 7th June[1]. This scheme is being progressed together with an improvement to the adjacent Downhill Lane Interchange and will include braided slip roads between the junctions, although direct access to and from the A19 to the south will still be possible.
