The C46 starts on the B769 to the south of Caldcoats and heads east along Malletsheugh Road. So far, so easy. However, the route then meets the A77, which has robbed part of its route as it crosses the M77. On the far side of the motorway, the C46 resumes, heading north to meet the C45 on the edge of Newton Mearns.
