Junctions related to the A72

Clovenfords Roundabout lies in the middle of the small village of Clovenfords, and is where the B710 meets the A72 at a five arm roundabout. Despite this being such a big junction, the two classified routes multiplex for a short distance to the south before the B710 turns off again. The junction has been laid out on the site of a former vineyard, which has allowed enough room for a spacious junction with a large central island. Each of the five arms only has a single approach and departure lane, however. At the same time as the roundabout was built, the A72 was provided with a new relief road through the southern part of the village, hence the short multiplex.

The junction replaces a former skewed crossroads which ran along the western side of the roundabout. The A72 originally crossed over onto Millbank Road, while the B710 followed a straight alignment along the footpath past the benches between Millbank Road and Cliff Road to reach its current alignment just beyond the new A72 junction. The land to the east of this junction was all covered in greenhouses for the vineyard.
