Hunger Hill is a key station in the centre of Poole.
It was originally a gyratory system involving Nile Row and Towngate Street. In the 1960s it became a roundabout, backed up by a one way system running along High Street.
It was later upgraded to a more formal roundabout, with Towngate Bridge replacing the level crossing on Towngate Street and the High Street closed to traffic.
The junction was changed again in the 1990s, becoming a complicated traffic light arrangement.
