Leicester Council

Leicester City Council is the Highway Authority responsible for the management of all public roads and associated works – other than those which are the responsibility of National Highways – within its administrative area. The council maintains approximately 850 km of roads, of which 283 km are covered by a precautionary winter salting programme, as well as 35,300 streetlights and 7,400 traffic signs.

The council produces a Local Transport Plan in association with Leicestershire County Council.
