Approaching the M57
The A5300 is a southern extension of the M57 Liverpool Outer Ring. Heading south from the M57 and M62 at Tarbock Roundabout, it is a fairly straight D2 with no junctions before ending at Newstead Farm Interchange on the A562 to the west of Widnes.
History
The dual carriageway from Tarbock Roundabout to Newstead Farm Interchange was opened on 15 April 1996 by Eddie O'Hara, MP for Knowsley South. Cost £50 million.
