Route outline (key)
A622 Rawtenstall - Rising Bridge
This article is about the Haslingden Bypass.
For the original route, from Bakewell to Hathersage in Derbyshire, see A622 (Derbyshire)
.

The A56 (former A622) Haslingden Bypass

The A622 was a provisional number given to the Haslingden Bypass in east Lancashire between 1981 and 1985 when the road was extended north to meet M65 J8 and the whole road renumbered as part of the rerouted A56 which previously ran through Rawtenstall and in to Burnley via what is now the A682.

Original signage that still remains clearly states A56 - it is unclear if A622 plates were put over these during the short period of existence or if in practice the A622 was signed as a spur of the A56.
