This article is about the Class III road numbered C16 maintained by Argyll and Bute Council.
For other roads numbered C16, see C16.
For other roads numbered C16, see C16.
The C16 starts in the centre of the pretty coastal village of Port Charlotte on the Rhinns of Islay and heads north. It climbs up and over the ridge that forms this long peninsula, dropping towards the coast at Kilchiaran. It is not quite clear exactly where the C16 comes to an end, as the road continues running along the north side of the hills, well inland from the shore, to Portnahaven at the western end of Islay.
