Mooremount Interchange is Junction 13 of the M1.
In 1993 Mooremount Interchange became the location of the temporary terminus, of the Dunleer bypass section of the M1. An S2 link road was built to the original N1 (now R132). The present interchange opened in 2001, when the motorway was extended to Dundalk, and this link road became the R211. The interchange is a partial one, reflecting its role in catering for traffic from the R211. This is not very restrictive, however, as the junction is only 2.4 km from the Charleville Interchange to the north and 2.2 km from the Dunleer Interchange to the south, making these the closest together junctions on the rural M1.
