Flurrybridge Interchange is junction 20 of the N1.
This name of this interchange not only reflects its location at the village known as Flurrybridge, but it does in fact bridge the River Flurry, which also forms the boundary between Counties Armagh and Louth. Consequently, part of the interchange is in Northern Ireland, while the most of it lies in the Republic of Ireland. The junction has an asymmetric layout, which allows southbound traffic exit, but has no northbound ramp. This unusual arrangement reflects the needs of the neighbouring Carrickdale Hotel on the old N1 (now R132), as southbound traffic can exit when they see the hotel.
The roundabout to the east of the main junction is named the Carrickcarnan Roundabout.
