The T9 was a major cross country route in Ireland, from the T1 at Dundalk to the T6 at Cahir, forming part of a northeast / southwest route from Belfast to Cork, avoiding Dublin.
Today, the route is mostly a combination of the N52 and N62, though the section around the Slieve Bloom Mountains is no longer regarded as an important through route, and the two ends of the route have been made obsolete by the M1 / N33 and M8 respectively.
