The T7 was the main road from Dublin to Waterford. Unlike the modern route, which uses the M7 and M9, this route went via what's now the pre-bypass N11 to Enniscorthy, the N30 to New Ross, and the N25 to the centre of Waterford.
Between Wicklow and Arklow, the T7 took a more inland route than the later N11 / M11 route along the coast.
