Wilmslow Road Junction is a junction of the A555 near to Handforth to the south of Manchester. The junction opened in 1995 as the temporary western terminus of the A555 and alongside the A34 Wilmslow and Handforth bypass. The junction was constructed as an incomplete dumbbell, with an unused overbridge awaiting the western extension of the A555 towards Manchester Airport
Work started nearly 20 years later, in 2014 to fill in the gap between here and Manchester Airport, which finally saw the unused overbridge brought into use in 2018 and the junction completed.
