Coreshill Mount Roundabout is the junction of the A71, the B730 and the link road to B7081. It is to the south-east of Dreghorn
The A71 runs from Edinburgh to Irvine. The B730 runs from this roundabout to Patna.
In addition, there were bigger things planned for this junction in the early 1970s. The A71 would have passed over the roundabout on a flyover and the unbuilt Eastern Primary would have ran north-north hence the large space on the southern side of the junction where this road would have connected.
History
It opened with the Dreghorn Bypass in March 1978, phase 1 of the Irvine to Kilmarnock new road. As such, only the western dual carriageway bypass, the B730 link to Dreghorn and the northern single carriageway link (originally A71) to Main Street, east of Dreghorn was opened at the time.
The eastwards exit opened with the Springside and Crosshouse Bypass, phase 2 of the Irvine to Kilmarnock new road, on 25 November 1983.
