The Snow Roads Scenic Route is a comparatively new addition to the tourist routes in Scotland, and follows the A93 and Deeside Tourist Route from Blairgowrie north to Braemar and then Ballater. It then doubles back onto the A939, finding the Highland Tourist Route via Tomintoul to Grantown on Spey. Along the way, it traverses the Cairngorms National Park area, and uses two of the highest roads in the country, Glen Shee over the Cairnwell Pass and the Lecht, both home to Ski centres. Sculptures and fancy viewpoints are being added to the route.
