This article is about the original A2004 in Guildford.

The A2004 was originally allocated to a short link road bypassing Guildford to the northeast. It started on the A246 Epsom Road, ran along Waterden Road, crossed over what was then the A3 (now the A3100) and ran along York Road to terminate on Woodbridge Road (then the A321).
In July 1934, following the completion of the Guildford and Godalming Bypass, it was downgraded to an unclassified road. Today, however, its usefulness in bypassing the city centre has been rediscovered and it is a spur of the A246.
