Route : Ringway (A59) to Strand Road (A5072) via Corporation Street and Fishergate Hill
The C329 at somepoint has been numbered throughout as the A59 and when the A59 ran the full length of fishergate, the whole of Corporation Street was numbered as the B5258. The B5258 disappeared a long time ago on the re-routing of the A59 down Corporation Street to the back of the Corn Exchange building, at this point (most likely) the B5258 ceased to exist and the A5071 was extended to meet the A59. When the new link road was completed the A59 was once again moved and thus was born the C329. Still a busy route in it's own right and a major route out of Preston, it passes and gives access to the Fishergate Shopping Centre and Preston's Railway Station, a major transport hub in the North West. Of interest at the other end of the road near the River Ribble, the C329 passes the sight of Preston's other main Railway Station (now closed and long demolished) of Fishergate Hill which ran services to Southport and East Lancashire via long closed and lifted lines. From the major junction with Strand Road and Broadgate the A5072 takes over as Liverpool Road for the short journey to meet back up with the A59.
