The journey most of us take into Newquay will be from the North East, Via the undulating and (particularly in the summer) Congested A392. The A392 spurs of the A30 at Indian Queens via a grade separated roundabout (also signposted for 'Gnome World?'. It then continues for about a mile as a D2 standard by-passing St Columb to the Trevarren roundabout. From here it picks up its original route and snakes its way into Newquay via Quintrell Downs village. Here it spits with an option to enter the town from the north on the A3058 (The road eventually hugging the coast as it enters the town and merging with the original A392 on Trevemper Hill (the A392 enters via the south and follows the Gannel estuary.
Newquay should be noted as a difficult place to traverse in summer - but worth the journey for its spectacular views. It also has road links of the B3276 to the north (Padstow) and A3075 to the south (Perranporth / Redruth
