Rotherham Council

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is the Highway Authority responsible for the maintenance of over 680 miles of roads and associated footways in the borough, with the exception of trunk roads, which are managed by National Highways.

The authority's remit includes in the Borough that are not managed by National Highways. This also includes the provision and maintenance of bridges, other highway-related structures, signal-controlled junctions, pedestrian crossings, road markings, 3,500 illuminated traffic signs, and over 36,000 street lights. All work in Rotherham is managed by Streetpride and the council has entered into a partner agreement with Ringway Highway Services Ltd to help deliver construction projects and carry out all grounds maintenance work.
