The B1427 is a short link road to the south of Scarborough town centre. The road was originally unclassified but had gained its number by the mid-1940s.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A64 Seamer Road and heads east along Queen Margaret's Road, a street name it keeps for its entire length. It soon goes over the railway line and then bends sharply left. It follows a surprisingly rural route for a road so close to a town centre.
We contour round the northern edge of Oliver's Mount with views to the left. Presently houses start to line the road on the left and then later on the right, after which the road ends at traffic lights on the A165 Filey Road.
