Swan Roundabout is a roundabout on the A41 Black Country Spine Road on the northern side of West Bromwich. The local area is called Swan Village - hence the name of the roundabout.
History
In the late 1980s when the Black Country Spine Road was being developed this junction was planned as a limited access interchange with three of the four movements possible. The parallel Dudley Street was to cater for the missing movement. Poor ground conditions along the route pushed up the cost of the scheme and ways of reducing the cost had to be found. The planned grade separated junctions were all eliminated and flat roundabouts were built instead. The downgraded junction resulted in all movements being available from the Spine Road.
