Baker Street is the junction between the A501 London Inner Ring Road and A41. The Ring Road is a dual carriageway (Marylebone Road), and the A41 a pair of one-way streets (Baker Street southbound and Gloucester Place northbound). Certain turns are banned at the junction of Marylebone Road and Baker Street, and so York Street provides a (Congestion Charge free) u-turn on the A41 corridor to provide those movements via the junction of Marylebone Road and Gloucester Place.
