Oxford Street Island is located at the intersection of A41 and A463 in Bilston, in the southeast of Wolverhampton.
It was constructed in the late 1980s along with the A463 Black Country Route which passes between M6 Junction 10 and the A4123, and is located at the eastern end of the stretch bypassing Bilston town centre.
Bilston was an important district during the Industrial Revolution, with its main industries being enamel, coal mining and steel manufacture.
